Product Description

Product Description
What's E-coating?
Electrophoretic deposition (ED), is a term for a broad range of industrial processes which includes electrocoating, e-coating, cathodic electrodeposition, anodic electrodeposition, and electrophoretic coating, or electrophoretic painting. A characteristic feature of this process is that colloidal particles suspended in a liquid medium migrate under the influence of an electric field (electrophoresis) and are deposited onto an electrode. All colloidal particles that can be used to form stable suspensions and that can carry a charge can be used in electrophoretic deposition. This includes materials such as polymers, pigments, dyes, ceramics and metals.

The process is useful for applying materials to any electrically conductive surface. The materials which are being deposited are the major determining factor in the actual processing conditions and equipment which may be used.

Technical advantages:
1.Uniform coating thickness without porosity, no runs and sags
2.Better coverage on sharp corners, inside cavities, as well as the outside surfaces
3.Better Adhesion, Impact, Elasticity and Corrosion resistance
4.Relatively high speed of coating
5.The process is normally automated and requires less human labor than other coating processe
6.Highly efficient utilization of the coating materials
7.More environmentally friendly than many other painting technologies
Operating principle:
Putting the workpieces and corresponding electrode into the water-soluble paint and connecting the electricity supply. The resin and fillers in the paint will separate out equably on the surfaces of the workpieces and deposit to form water-fast paint films on the physical and chemical effects of electric fields.

Specification
Main parts of the full line:
1. Pre-treatment stage
Function: Thoroughly clean the metal surface and enhance coating adhesion.
Degreasing tank: Alkaline cleaning solution removes oil and dust.
Water rinse tank: Multiple spray/dip cycles remove residual chemicals (including pure water rinse).
Phosphating tank: Forms a phosphate conversion coating (such as zinc-based/iron-based phosphating) to prevent rust and enhance adhesion.
Drying Oven: Thoroughly dries moisture to prevent interference with electrophoresis.
2. Electrophoresis tank stage
Function: Apply electricity to evenly adhere the coating to the surface of the workpiece.
Main electrophoresis tank: Fill with water-based electrophoresis paint and completely immerse the workpiece.
Power supply system: DC rectifier (after power is applied, the workpiece becomes the cathode/anode*), causing the charged paint particles to adhere in a specific direction.
Anode system: Anode plates are installed in the tank (in conjunction with a membrane cover) to stabilize the electrophoresis reaction.
3. Post-treatment stage
Function: Recover excess paint liquid and reduce waste.
UF water washing tank: Rinse floating paint with ultrafiltration liquid and recover it to the electrophoresis tank.
Pure water washing tank: Final rinsing to ensure a clean surface.
4. Baking and curing stage
Function: High temperature causes the coating to cross-link and cure, forming a hard paint film.
Baking oven: High-temperature tunnel oven (around 180°C), where the coating undergoes a chemical reaction and hardens completely.
